RMMT’s 27th birthday with Edmunds Apsalons
The company’s anniversary – new knowledge, experience and inspiration
This year, we celebrated the company’s anniversary at a special venue – the Riga Art and Media Technical School. We were particularly impressed by the college’s new building, which houses a modern hall where young people learn the art of lighting and film. We are proud to have installed the ventilation and cooling systems in this hall under the leadership of project manager Sanda Čalpa. The chilled ceiling solution implemented here is both modern and effective.
The birthday programme also included presentations by Intellify and Lafivents, which gave us valuable insight into our colleagues’ projects and achievements. Such meetings allow us to better understand how we work together to create successful projects and solutions.
The highlight was a workshop with communication expert Edmunds Apsalons, author of the book *Constructive Communication*. Edmunds wishes to establish the Latvian equivalent ‘kopīgošanās’ for the word ‘communication’, to better convey the term’s meaning – reaching a shared understanding. Edmunds made us reflect on how important it is HOW we convey our message and to be aware of our intention: whether we wish to fight or cooperate, or whether we wish to be opponents or partners.
During the social part of the evening, artist Zane Pumpure-Prāmniece surprised us with a short sand animation film about what we do, reminding us that we are doing good and necessary work, that the complex systems we build are vital and essential for people to be able to breathe and feel at ease whilst carrying out their daily tasks in offices, universities, museums, shops, hospitals, industrial premises and elsewhere.
The musical entertainment was provided by college student Agnese Bērzkalne, who truly moved and impressed everyone present with her talent and singing.
This day reminded us how important it is not only to achieve professionally, but also to be together, to find inspiration and to share positive experiences.
